The beginning of a New Year

We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched.  Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential.  ~Ellen Goodman

December 21st, 2012 has come and gone and our planet continues to orbit the Sun with,  as far as I am aware,  no visible change in the lives of humankind.

I think we all agree that the world we inhabit is so often a sad,  harsh place.  News updates of natural disasters and man's inhumanity around the world are available at the touch of a button.   However,  at the beginning of another year I will try to see past the negative happenings around the world and concentrate on the positive.

So here's hoping that 2013 be a year be filled with good fortune,  joy and much happiness.  Let us practice random acts of kindness and help a stranger,  pray for peace,  understand,  say 'thank you' and sing for joy.    An abundance of blessings to you all.

Happy New Year! May 2013 bring you lots of peace, prosperity and mountainous heaps of potential!

When one can filter out all the negativity, they can find a lot of beauty. Sometimes you have to sift through a lot of muck before you find the nugget of gold... but it's worth it!
