A new bear for St Valentine's Day

A short and sweet blog today.

This is a new little girl bear I have just completed and listed on e-bay.   Made from one of my older patterns using some very special cream vintage long pile fabric Meredith is a slightly bigger bear, fractionally over 4".   I designed a special dress for this little girl with pin tucks on the bodice.   However perhaps because I am feeling so cold her 'bare' arms bothered me so I added a little felt jacket with embroidered edges.   As the dress fabric has a design of tiny hearts and St Valentine's Day is just around the corner it seemed appropriate to give this little girl a heart shaped vintage card.

The snow is falling steadily again this evening.    Tomorrow that means sweeping the driveway and paths so that the soft snow does not turn to ice when we walk/drive on it!

I seem to have acquired a cold and streaming nose but hopefully it will go away quickly so it does not interfere too much with all my work!

If you live in snowy climes, do take care and keep warm.......... until next time.

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire:  it is the time for home. ~Edith Sitwell
