11 September 2001

Yesterday like so many people, I remembered with much sadness the events of 11th September.  One of those happenings that for the rest of my life I will remember the exact time and what I was doing when I heard the news and how I watched in horror the drama unfold on my TV screen.  Cannot believe that it was ten years ago, seems like only yesterday!
As an animal lover I would like to remember the wonderful dogs who helped with search and rescue.  The following link is a video tribute which will probably bring tears to your eyes.

I will not go into right and wrongs of the politics in the years that have followed this tragic event, this is not the place for it but as a special friend said to me yesterday at the Hugglets show in London, 'Perhaps  if we gave them all a teddy bear to hug they might see the world in a different way'.  Here's hoping.

The real differences around the world today are not between Jews and Arabs; Protestants and Catholics; Muslims, Croats, and Serbs. The real differences are between those who embrace peace and those who would destroy it; between those who look to the future and those who cling to the past; between those who open their arms and those who are determined to clench their fists. ~William J. Clinton, 1997

Wendy this post is beautiful! I just had to tell you. I love that quote so much too. It is truth, so beautifully encapsulated. I think a Teddy Bear hug is certainly in order!
