The week that was.......................

Life has a way of knocking the stuffing out of you just when you are starting to lift up your head and everything seems to be settling down a little.
My husband recently celebrated a special birthday although he was not feeling his very best. After several visits to doctors, hospitals and specialists he has been diagnosed with osteomyelitis, an infection of the bone in his foot. Seemingly a minor problem it is actually very difficult to treat and after several weeks of treatment without any improvement, he is now in hospital being treated intravenously with antibiotics which could apparently take several weeks. This is long term treatment and he could have to take antibiotics indefinitely. Another hurdle in life's journey.
As I have had to spend a fair amount of time away from home my work has slowed down considerably but I have managed to complete some commissions.
With the somewhat kinder weather there have been more happenings around this part of Cambridgeshire. This past weekend we did manage to find time to visit an open garden in the most beautiful old house in Godmanchester as well as the local boot market. I took lots of pictures of the garden which I will edit and put up on my blog later this week. We found several interesting vintage items at the boot market which I will photograph and share.
And finally we have once again had problems with our internet connection, good old BT is not very efficient and really could not care less. The previous weekend our internet access died and we waited several days for it to be up and running again. This weekend the same thing happened and we once again phoned the call centre in some obscure place to be advised that an engineer was only available after the bank holiday weekend! The problem has, I hope, been finally solved late this afternoon so lots of catching up to do.
