The beauty of nature ...................

The weather seems to have a settled a little again and I am enjoying a good walk each evening, something I have missed for the past year. I had disciplined myself to a daily walk when living in CT and as we lived in the middle of the city had resorted to using the school playing fields as my daily exercise area, boring but safe. Now living in the country I am enjoying walking under a canopy of beautiful trees and open fields with public footpaths wandering through and around farming land. It is interesting to see the multitude of rabbit burrows along the side of the deep ditch, no sign of the inhabitants but I did spot a couple of bunnies in the field as well as evidence of their nibbling the young oats at the side of the pathway.

Walked past a field of horses, several of them inquisitive enough to wander to the fence to see if I had anything to offer them. This is a picture of a stile, first one I have found on my wanderings, a good way to get over the fence
The ducks and their babies are in the various ponds around the village, sad to see the numbers diminish to predators and careless motorists. Saw a tiny black baby moorhen today, quite newly hatched and all legs and big feet running after its mother with spiky black feathers giving him the appearance of a fluffy spider! Took this picture of a group of teenage ducklings sitting with their Mom next a pond in a garden. The local ducks seem to have made themselves quite at home and wander in and out of the neighbourhood gardens with their babies.

And finally to prove that I have been actually completing some work this is a picture of Aimee my latest little girl bear with her friendly white kitty.

Have a three day temp assignment over the next few days then back to creative work again.
