A knitting disaster and other things...................

It has been a week of mixed blessings. Firstly I knitted tiny sweater for a bear, stitched it all up and could not get it over his big head. After nearly pulling off an ear and totally stretching the neck beyond repair, I have had to knit the whole item again. Rather a waste of some eight hours of work. I did manage to complete a tiny elephant companion for another bear so have achieved something constructive. Pictures to follow.
As the weather has become colder it would appear that the local bush telegraph is working overtime. Our little bird feeder is highly appreciated by a wide variety of birds including a very pretty woodpecker!
This week I joined the local library maybe not such a good idea as I love reading............ Give me a good book and I can get involved for hours when I should be working. To discover that I can borrow twelve books at one time is rather exciting 'tho our little library is not exactly well stocked. Will have to visit the Huntingdon Library for a bigger selection.
Today we visited the B&Q store in Peterborough. Put the post code in the satnav and ended up in some dead end road with lots of warehouses. Eventually managed to find it and had fun looking at all the wonderful Christmas goodies. I have now been advised by the removers that our belongings should arrive in the UK at the end of November so managed to resist the temptation to add to our large number of decorations.
On one of my recent visits to a second hand book shop I found a copy of Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories to add to my collection of books. It is many years since I read this book but I was thrilled to find the story of 'The Cat Who Walked by Himself'. This is a picture of the cat walking through the wet wild woods, typical self reliant creature like all kitties...
To end on a light note I have been looking for some part time employment. Whilst surfing the net I found a 'writers wanted' advertisement which sounded interesting. It was somewhat disconcerting to receive a reply advising that the 'writing' was a review of adult websites. Well it would be different I suppose but not quite my cup of tea, think I will stick to my bears/jewellery making/cross stitch etc.
A busy weekend ahead and of course the lucky draw on Sunday. Have a good weekend.

Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

I am so sorry you had such a problem with the little sweater, though I am sure the new sweater or jumper as we say in England is perfect!!
