I have an interesting week ahead of me. As some of you know, one of my other 'interests' (besides bears) is jewellery/beading and whilst surfing the net I discovered an art clay workshop to be held in London this week. I mentioned it to my wonderful family who have encouraged me to attend as I will be celebrating a special birthday this week. So tomorrow I will be taking the commuter train to London for the first part of a four day workshop. It sounds like a good basic introduction to working with art clay. Will post some pics of my attempts later in the week.
As I will be away for most of the week and only getting home quite late, I will hold over the give-away until the end of this week. Thank you to those of you who have left comments.
I mentioned in a previous blog that I had been very sad to leave most of my plants behind in France. One thing I did manage to bring was a window box with begonias. This is a picture of one of the flowers, something quite unusual, have not seen striped begonia flowers before.
We are still camping in our house as I am waiting for the removal company to finally let me know what is happening with shipping all our belongings. As Megan is keen to start working on more bear kits and patterns it is becoming a long wait.
On Saturday we attended an antique/collectors market held in a nearby town. Prices were rather high and I definitely prefer boot markets where I can find bargains. Did manage to find some small things for our bear making which did not break the bank. There was a beautiful old bear which I would have loved to own but at £180 just a little out of my league, I look for the £10 versions. On the way back to Huntingdon we passed what appeared to be a large garden centre which I 'bookmarked' for a future visit. Today Megan and I decided to stop on our way back from shopping and discovered that it sells a lot more than plants. We unfortunately did not have a lot of time but the craft section is amazing and we will be back..................
Have a good week.
