Maddie will be winging her way to her new home in the Ukraine tomorrow and I have a new little bear to preview.
Megan was showing me some of her tatting samples recently and kindly donated a very pretty shaded pink edging which was was just enough to trim the front edges of the little pink jacket. The little pink pot bellied pink is definitely a once off. Measuring just 1" x 1", she turned out to be a lot smaller than I had planned and is very round. My original idea was that the bear could hold a little companion but the pig is rather rotund so it did not work. Samantha and Emily Trotters are now listed on e-bay.
Fuchsias are one of my favourite flowers and this year's plants are thriving and looking so beautiful. Bought as 'plugs' in early spring they were just a couple of leaves and are now in full flower.
This one I could not resist as it is called 'Wendy's Delight'. The very large flowers are amazing pastel shades of cream, pinks and purple.
This one is called Southern Belle is deeper shades of magenta and cream. Now I just have to try and find out how to store my plants in winter as the frost kills them very quickly.
The runner beans are flourishing but sadly due to the wet summer our tomato crop will be very small this year.
Just too many beans to cope with so I have resorted to freezing them. I bought some angelica plants when visiting Stratford last year and this season have had fun making candied angelica, something I have not seen for many years, great decoration for cakes. We do have plans to raid the hedgerows for crab apples and blackberries to make jams/preserves but will have to fit this into a tight schedule of bear making over the next few months.
A special limited edition bear to celebrate our 20th anniversary is planned and our usual Christmas webpage offerings but more about that later.

What a little stunner Maddy is. Perfect perfection. Love your fushias. Not only frost kills them, I am very good at it also.
