My latest bear.....

A short update today. The bits of furry pieces photographed in my last blog have become a bear! This is Victoria Rose a traditional style little girl. I have trimmed her with lovely Hannah silk ribbon in shades of pink adding some vintage velvet flowers and pearl beads and she is now listed on e-bay! It is quite difficult photographing bears at this time of the year. This bear is actually cream with a slight pink undertone. I have also found that some of the vintage long pile fabric stretches and this bear is made from one of my favourite and much used patterns which is usually 3.5". She is a very much taller 4". I had great plans for a pretty dress made from vintage lace but it just did not look right. Well a dress for another slightly smaller bear all ready and stitched.
The end of a tiring week and I am looking forward to the weekend and creating time. Three bears almost complete, just waiting for faces/jointing and finishing.
That is of course if I don't spend too much time reading. On my recent visit to the library I found the last two books in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith. I have so enjoyed these books with their colourful characters.
As a great lover and collector of books I was quite surprised when I was informed by someone this week that he had never read a novel in his life. I find that quite sad as there is nothing more wonderful than to curl up with a good book to read.
Have a good and restful weekend...........

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.  ~Anna Quindlen
